Leiden University Centre for Digital Humanities
Ludic Lab
The Leiden Ludic Collective is an open initiative and shared space for scholars and gamers of any level to hold discussions, exchange ideas, and, most importantly, play together.
The collective meets twice a month to contemplate a text, game, (current) event, or weird phenomenon, and talk through our thoughts, feelings, and experiences of things like TTRPGs, retrogaming, playgrounds, E-sports, and magic circles, as well as more “out there” themes, such as improvisational theatre, abusive games, and parasocial play. In addition to this, the LLC is a welcome space for collaborative creative ventures, such as hypertext writing, zine-making, and seeing how many house rules we can add to a game of Uno before it falls apart entirely. The goal of the LLC is to promote the fostering and exchange of ideas across disciplinary boundaries, so everyone is welcome at the table(top), and participation is entirely voluntary. Feel free to drop by Huizinga 0.14 to check out our brand new Ludic Lab, or fill in the form below to join our mailing list to learn more!
