Research
Keerthi is a PhD candidate at LUCAS & LUCDH, as part of the NWO-funded Playful Time Machines project, which examines the role of video games in shaping societal, communal, and individual relationships with the past. Their PhD research focuses on player experience as a process of identification, interpellation, and orientation in both time and space. By untangling the elements at work in individual instantiations of play, their research seeks to build a comprehensive understanding of "past-play" as an affective, value-driven experience.
In addition to teaching in the Game Studies minor, they also co-run the Leiden Ludic Collective (LLC), an initiative for scholars at all levels to discuss and collaborate around games and play.
