Practicum Musicae Christmas Concert
Come and enjoy a unique free concert on 16 December. With performances by students from Leiden University, who alongside their studies are following the Practicum Musicae talent programme at the Royal Conservatoire The Hague. Various ensembles, quartets and duos and a brand-new orchestra will treat you to a programme of romantic works, subtle baroque pieces and unadulterated jazz
Practicum Musicae
The young musicians are all following Practicum Musicae, a three-year programme in which, alongside their academic studies, students from Leiden University they are taught at the Conservatoire by leading lecturers from the Netherlands and abroad. A unique combination therefore.
Academy of Creative and Performing Arts (ACPA)
Practicum Musicae is one of the programmes at the Academy of Creative and Performing Arts (ACPA). ACPA brings together art and knowledge, conducting research and providing education in the arts – not only music but also the visual arts. It is a partnership between Leiden University and the University of the Arts The Hague.
PMO
The brand-new Practicum Musicae Orchestra (PMO) will be playing for you. The talented students from the orchestra will treat you to a varied and sparkling performance. PMO was recently started as a platform where Practicum Musicae students can play together, and other musicians can also join in. The orchestra is conducted by Aafko Boonstra, who is studying to be a conductor at Practicum Musicae.
Free concert
The concert is free. Buy a drink at the bar during the break or bring your own: a bottle of bubbly and some bites, for instance. Feel free to don your best party outfit! We’ll roll out the red carpet for you.
