Global Governance and Transnational Cooperation
This thematic area examines collaboration and conflict in the making of rules for global issues and relations. Research covers more traditional global governance through intergovernmental multilateralism as well as alternative channels such as transgovernmental networks, translocal global governance among substate actors, private global governance, and multistakeholder initiatives. These questions are addressed by scholars with expertise in, amongst other fields, crisis management, history, international relations, law, and political science.
GTGC also collaborates closely on questions related to Global Governance and Transnational Cooperation with the Global Governance Innovation Network (GGIN), a collaborative project of the Stimson Center.
Global Governance and Transnational Cooperation thematic area is co-convened by Joris Larik and Jan Aart Scholte.
