This thematic area covers global transformations around the production, allocation and consumption of resources. Related topics cover development, finance, and labour (including economic migration). Affiliated researchers approach these questions from perspectives of economics, history, (international) political economy, law.

GTGC also collaborates closely on questions of global political economy with the Leiden Political Economy Group (L-PEG).
