Education

The GTGC programme has brought three new permanent academic staff to Leiden University. They have brought curricular development with new courses on:

• East Asia and Global Transformations (Bachelor)
• Global Transformations and Governance Challenges (Master)
• Human Rights Challenges posed by Global Transformations (Master)
• The Impact of Global Transformations on Violence (Bachelor)
• Governing a Global World (Bachelor)

GTGC hires have also contributed guest lectures to other courses across several Leiden University faculties. In the longer term we plan to introduce a new degree stream as well as professional courses on global policy.

Beyond Leiden University, GTGC staff have contributed to courses at the Clingendael Academy, the Moscow School of Economics, the NATO Defense College, the University of Gothenburg, the University of Helsinki, the University of Indonesia, the University of Mauritius. In Winter 2021 GTGC co-hosted a Winter PhD School on Global Studies with the University of Padova and the University of Sao Paulo. We also give occasional lectures to schools and student associations across the Netherlands.
