Just Peace Festival 2025

We are bringing academia to the city through the Just Peace Festival, a vibrant platform for dialogue, collaboration, and action on the pressing global challenges of peace and justice!

Held in The Hague — known as the International City of Peace and Justice — the festival takes place in June 2025 as the city prepares to host the 2025 NATO Summit. It offers a timely opportunity to reflect on NATO’s role in global security and explore alternative pathways for lasting peace.

The Just Peace Festival is a collaborative, multistakeholder initiative organised by The Hague Humanity Hub, Leiden University through the Global Transformations and Governance Challenges Programme, and Spreeek, with the support of the Municipality of The Hague

The programme will have a blend of cultural, academic, social, and entrepreneural events, all focused on how we can re-think peace and justice in the current world.

Why a Just Peace Festival?

In today’s interconnected world, where armed conflict, inequality, environmental threats, and social divides threaten democracy and global stability, the Just Peace Festival brings together citizens, experts, artists, policymakers, and activists. Through interactive sessions, workshops, exhibitions, and performances covering key themes such as climate justice, international law, and disinformation, the festival celebrates efforts toward peace, fosters meaningful conversations, and inspires collective action.

By making The Hague’s vital global work accessible to the public, the festival transforms the city into an open forum where the local and global intersect — creating a space where everyone has a voice in shaping a more just, peaceful and equitable future.
