Registration and payment

The registration period for semester 1 (2024/2025) will start on June 3rd.

Registration

Important! You can only use this page to register for courses within the Faculty of Humanities. If you are interested in taking courses in another faculty, see the full range of contract and non-examination courses. N.B. registration for these courses occurs via the relevant faculty.

If you are unsure whether a course is available, are still discussing your options with the Study Adviser or have another reason why you will not be able to register in time, please contact the coordinator for contract teaching before the registration deadline to discuss your options.

Important! Your registration is only valid once the university has received an authenticated copy of a VWO (pre-university education) diploma or HBO (University of Applied Sciences) first-year diploma, or a certificate at a similar level. For more information, see: contract teaching admissions requirements.

As soon as possible after your registration form and (where applicable) your diploma have been received, you will be sent a letter of confirmation including details such as your timetable. You can also find this information on MyTimetable . You do not require a student account to make use of this.

Costs and payment

Course fees

The fees for contract teaching amount to € 159,00 euro per EC for undergraduate courses (academic year 2024/2025). 
One EC represents a study load of 28 hours.  

Prices include one examination attempt and a resit (if needed) in the same academic year. Any study materials you need to purchase are not included.

The above costs are exempt from VAT.

Payment

Once you have sent your registration form, you will be automatically redirected to Paylogic, Leiden University’s payment system.

If you are unable to pay via Paylogic, you can make a bank transfer to the account number of our faculty. (PLEASE NOTE! Only use this account for payments to AlaCarte and Contract Education of the Faculty of Humanities).

Payment must be received no later than 14 days before the start of the course. If your payment arrives after this deadline, we cannot guarantee that it will be processed in time.

It is not possible to pay in instalments or by single direct debit.
