Registration and payment

The registration period for semester 1 starts on June 3rd.

Please note that through this page you can only register for the Faculty of Humanities courses. Are you interested in registering for courses at another faculty? Click here.

Are you not sure if a certain course is available, or are you still discussing with your study adviser another reason why you expect that your application cannot be sent in time? Please contact the à la carte education coordinator before the registration deadline to find out what the options are.

Upon receiving your application and, if necessary, your diploma, you will receive a letter of confirmation (including a timetable) as soon as possible. This information can also be found online (MyTimeTable). You do not need a student account!

Fees and payment

Course fees

The fee for à la carte education is € 80,00 per EC for lectures at bachelor’s level (2024/2025 academic year). One EC is equal to a study load of 28 hours. The course description in the online prospectus will tell you if a course is 5EC or 10EC.

Maximum amount

If you attend four or more à la carte courses in the 2023/2024 academic year, you pay a maximum fee of € 1392,00 per academic year (passe-partout 2024/2025). For this fee, you can register for a maximum of 8 courses, per semester.

The above-mentioned fees are exempted from VAT.

Any study material you need to purchase is not included in the fees.

Payment

Upon sending the registration form you will automatically be redirected to Paylogic, Leiden University’s payment system.

If payment through Paylogic is not possible, the payment can be transferred to the following account number. (PLEASE NOTE! Only use this account for payments to AlaCarte and Contract Education of the Faculty of Humanities).

The payment should be received by us at least 14 days prior to the start of the course. If this deadline is not met, we cannot guarantee timely registration.

Payments by instalments or a one-off direct debit are not possible.
