Prof Dr Nicole van Dam
Friedrich Schiller University Jena & German Centre for Integrative Biodiversity Research, Halle-Jena-Leipzig, Germany
Prof van Dam studied Biology at Wageningen University (NL) and completed a PhD-thesis at the department of Plant Ecology, University of Leiden in 1995 (NL). After post-docs at the University of California (USA), and the Max-Planck-Institute for Chemical Ecology in Jena (DE), she became research scientist at the Netherlands Institute of Ecology (NL) in 2000. In 2010, she was appointed full professor in Ecogenomics at the Radboud University Nijmegen (NL). Since 2014, she is a full professor at the Friedrich-Schiller-University Jena and group leader “Molecular Interaction Ecology” at the German Institute for Integrative Biodiversity (iDiv), Halle-Jena-Leipzig (DE). Her research mission is to unravel the molecular and chemical mechanisms governing interactions between plants and herbivores.
