Sip2021 is sponsored by the Dutch Research Council (NWO) and the Graduate School Experimental Plant Sciences (EPS).

Dutch Research Council (NWO)

NWO's mission is to advance world-class scientific research that has scientific and societal impact. NWO approaches that from its vision of being a connector and is guided by its core values: ground-breaking, committed, reliable, and connecting.

The Dutch Research Council (NWO) ensures quality and innovation in science and facilitates its impact on society. Its main task is to fund scientific research at public research institutions in the Netherlands, especially universities. NWO focuses on all scientific disciplines and fields of research. The funds are allocated by means of a national competition on the basis of quality and independent assessment and selection procedures. NWO plays several roles as a broad, national research organisation that actively contributes to various elements of national science and innovation policy.

Graduate School Experimental Plant Sciences (EPS)

The interuniversity Graduate School ‘Experimental Plant Sciences’ (EPS) is a collaborative research and teaching institution of Wageningen University & Research (WUR), Radboud University Nijmegen (RU), VU Amsterdam (VU), Leiden University (LU), University of Amsterdam (UvA), Utrecht University (UU) and University of Groningen (RUG).

The mission of EPS is to organize the training of PhD candidates and postdocs to become self-reliant researchers in the field of basic and strategic research on healthy plants or plants affected by biotic or abiotic factors. The understanding of the functioning of plants offers new means for establishing sustainable agriculture and sustainable production of food, feed, non-food and green energy, and is also essential for the management of renewable resources. The sponsoring enables PhD-students to participate the SIP-conference.
