Hye Kyong Kim

Hye joined Prof. Verpoorte’s group at Leiden University right after she finished her PhD at Seoul National University, Seoul, Korea 2002. Until present, she has been working in the field of metabolomic studies using NMR in the medicinal plants (Ephedra, Ginseng, Catharanthus, Uncaria), plant resistance (Tobacco, Arabidopsis, Brassica) and connection with other platforms like genomics (Arabidopsis, Brassica). Recently her research interests are broadening to human metabolites (urine, cerebrospinal fluids) and microorganisms (streptomyces) for a better understanding of human disorders, improve their treatment and furthermore to find new active compounds.

Hye has been invited as a guest professor in University of Picardie (Amines, France) in 2008, 2009 June and as one of the guest editors in the special issue of ‘Phytochemical Analysis’ and ‘Phytochemistry Reviews’.
