Media Technology MSc Program

Are you eager to bring your own questions and curiosity into scientific research? Do you question intelligence and technology in a fundamental, creative, and playful way? Could you be a researcher who challenges scientific practice and pushes its boundaries?

"Creative Intelligence & Technology" or "Media Technology"?

"Creative Intelligence & Technology" is the new name of the Media Technology MSc programme. It better captures the focus of the program. The programme's curriculum changes slightly per September 1 2025, but retains the characteristics of self-driven and playful research that shaped the Media Technology MSc program since 2001.

Creative Intelligence & Technology

The Master Creative Intelligence & Technology is an interdisciplinary programme that questions intelligence and technology in a fundamental, creative, and playful way. It educates independent and societally engaged makers, thinkers, and researchers who are able to use and investigate state-of-the-art technology from computer science, artificial intelligence (AI), and related fields.
The programme takes a broad view on algorithmic, human and non-human cognition and intelligence. Furthermore, it studies the human and non-human aspects and effects of technology, including the societal and ecosystemic. It regards its students as researchers who are aware of, and reflect on, their own role in relation to what they research.
