Education
eLaw – Center for Law and Digital Technologies offers educational programs at Pre-University, Bachelor, Master’s, Advanced Master’s, and postgraduate level in the field of law, technology, and society.
eLaw equips students of different levels of experience and disciplinary backgrounds with a robust understanding of the challenges posed by digital technologies and their interplay with fundamental rights and the rule of law.
We cover cutting-edge topics such as privacy and data protection, AI regulation, fundamental rights in the digital age, platform governance, legal tech, cybersecurity, and human-robot interaction. Our interdisciplinary approach equips students with the tools to address the complex challenges of technology in society.
Masters
eLaw has offered the Advanced Master Law and Digital Technologies (LDT) since 2014.

We offer courses to the masters Jeugdrecht (in Dutch), International Children’s Rights (Advanced LL.M.) and European and International Human Rights Law (Advanced LL.M.).

Bachelor
This bachelor is offered, starting September 2025, as a collaboration between Faculty of Law, Faculty of Governance and Global Affairs and the Leiden Institute for Advanced Computer Science.

Minors
The interdisciplinary AI & Society minor of Leiden University brings together students and lecturers from a wide range of disciplines. Together they look at the impact of AI on society.

This minor makes you aware of the most relevant and current digital technology and teaches you how to regulate new technological developments.

Following a highly successful first edition, we are delighted to announce the second Leiden eLaw Summer School on ‘Regulating AI in the EU Digital Market’ taking place from 23 to 27 June 2025, both in person in Leiden and online.

eLaw contributes to various post-academic courses for legal professionals and provides the Specialization Training in Artificial Intelligence, Law and Ethics (in Dutch). See the Leiden Law Academy website for the course offer.
