Leiden Leadership Centre
About LLC
The Leiden Leadership Centre (LLC) at Leiden University is a platform for research and education in the field of public leadership, based in The Hague. We aim to advance knowledge and contribute to the development of public leadership - both in science and in practice.
Advancing public leadership, together
In cooperation with academics, practitioners and students, the LLC explores new ways in which we, together, can successfully shape public leadership in complex situations. Together – because we believe that leadership is a process in which we all take part.
In this approach we distinguish ourselves by:
In order to strengthen both the science and practice of leadership we continuously seek ways to disseminate the knowledge we develop for practical and societal purpose. To do this, we cooperate with practitioners and partner organisations in carrying out our research projects, and co-produce our agenda for research and development to address the complexity of leadership challenges.
Cooperation is central to our way of working; connecting academics, students and practitioners from various fields and disciplines, nationally and internationally, to deal with the complex challenges of public leadership.
We deliver strong academic research that is relevant, sound and novel in its themes, questions, approach and application. We strive for excellence in academic research, amongst others, through our participation in international academic research network.
In our educational programmes, postgraduate training and network activities we contribute to the leadership insights, knowledge and practice that is needed now and in the future.
We see public leadership as a means to an end; something we all take part in and use responsibly for a purpose. Therefore, our work contributes to advancing the leadership that effectively addresses both local and global challenges.
