Leiden Bio Science Park
At Leiden Bio Science Park (LBSP) Leiden University works together with the business community, the LUMC and the Municipality of Leiden.
This thriving business park comprises more than 200 companies and institutions, more than 100 of which are life sciences companies. This makes the LBSP the largest life sciences cluster in the Netherlands and – in addition to the University – one of Leiden’s strengths as an international city of knowledge. Many companies and scientists in the Leiden Bio Science Park are involved in drug development, and Leiden alumni regularly find work there. The founders and CEOs of a number of companies studied or obtained their doctorates at Leiden University.
Investing in LSBP generates hundreds of millions of euros for the Dutch economy and helps thousands of people (19,000 in 2019) from the region find a job. In the coming years, it will expand considerably to become a real campus where students, entrepreneurs and scientists can research, study and work.
