Lettie Dorst is universitair hoofddocent aan het Leiden University Centre for Linguistics. Ze geeft verschillende vakken in de Minor vertalen en de MA Vertalen, o.a. op het gebied van Vertaalwetenschap, Vertaaltechnologie, Multimodaal Vertalen, en Ondertitelen. Haar onderzoek richt zich op metaforen in dagelijks taalgebruik, het vertalen van metaforen, literair computerondersteund vertalen, en machinevertaalgeletterdheid. Ze leidde van 2020 tot 2023 een NRO Comenius Senior Fellow-project "The Value of Machine Translation for the Multilingual Academic Community", en was verantwoordelijk voor de workpackage "metaphor identification and translation" van het ZonMW-project "Dementia in Metaphors".
