Application deadlines

Each year, Leiden University College The Hague selects 200 students. Our selection process is divided in two round: Early Bird and a Regular. Keep reading to find out when they are, and why you would want to consider applying early.

Two deadlines

Our application system opens on the first of October year year. As such, it is be possible to submit an application for September 2025 from 1 October 2024 onwards. To apply for LUC, you need to submit an application in Studielink and the Leiden University application portal. When you submit your application affects when your application will be processed and reviewed. We encourage you to apply by the early bird deadline if you are able to, because it has a couple of advantages:

By applying early you have more options to complete the LUC Experience and reflection (see here);
You will hear the outcome of the selection process earlier, which helps plan and get ready for September. You can see the projected timeline in the image on this page;
If you want to apply for LUC Financial Support, you need to apply for the Early Bird deadline of 1 December 2024.

The final deadline

15 March is the final deadline to apply to LUC. Applications submitted in the online application portal on 16 March 2025 or later will not be considered for admission.
