Would you like to take on an extra challenge during your LUC programme? The following options are available to you.

Academy of Creative and Performing Arts (ACPA)

Interested in combining your LUC programme with courses in the fine arts? This can be done at the Academy of Creative and Performing Arts. The ACPA is a research institute and an intersectional organisation that offers academic education for art students, arts education for students of Leiden University, and cultural events that bridge art and science. As an LUC student you can take separate classes or a Minor at the ACPA as part of your elective space

Double Degree Studies with Leiden’s Faculty of Law

Are you interested in law and want to pursue two degrees simultaneously? You can do so at LUC. The Double Degree is designed for students who wish to do an LUC Bachelor in Liberal Arts and Sciences (Major: International Justice) combined with a Bachelor LLB Rechtsgeleerdheid at the Faculty of Law of Leiden University. As the Bachelor LLB Rechtsgeleerdheid is only available in Dutch, you need to be proficient in Dutch to qualify for the Double Degree Studies. Please note that this is a four year programme.

Honours programme of Leiden University

Students who are enrolled at a regular bachelors programme of Leiden University, outside of LUC, can take their degree to the next level by enrolling in the honours programme, where they follow courses for extra credit. LUC's bachelor's programme is already an honours degree, due to the intensity of the programme. However, if you want to join Leiden University's honors programme on top of your degree, you are welcome to apply for it. 

Honours education

Would you like to further develop yourself alongside your bachelor's? Then honours education is for you! You will experiment in our educational testing ground and grow personally, academically and professionally. 

Curious what honours can do for you? Take a look at the programmes below. You can choose from long-term programmes and separate courses. 

Honours College (30 EC)

Broaden your horizons with the Honours College! You will follow a 30 EC multi-year course at your own or another faculty. You will work on current themes, deepen and broaden your knowledge and meet students from other disciplines. 

You can apply for the Honours College in the second semester of your first academic year, or in the first semester of your second academic year. 

Bachelor Honours Classes (5 EC)

Follow your curiosity, take a Bachelor Honours Classes! In these courses (5 EC), you take a look at another field of study. You will discover your interests, experience experimental teaching and learn skills you don't have room for in your bachelor's.

Third-year bachelor students from all programmes are welcome to apply. There is a wide choice of more than 20 courses per year!

LDE Sustainability Honours (15 EC)

Do you want to gain tools to contribute in the field of sustainability? With the LDE Sustainability Honours Programme (15 EC) you will gain relevant knowledge, develop skills and work on concrete sustainability challenges. Students of all disciplines are welcome!

This programme is a collaboration between Leiden University, TU Delft and Erasmus University Rotterdam (LDE). Second and third-year bachelor's students from all three universities participate.

LDE Space & Society Honours (15 EC)

Do you want to contribute to society and do you have affinity with space? In the LDE Space & Society Honours Programme (15 EC) you will gain the knowledge and tools to become an innovative thinker and tackle a real-world challenge in the space sector. Students of all disciplines are welcome!

This programme is a collaboration between Leiden University, TU Delft and Erasmus University Rotterdam (LDE). Second and third-year bachelor's students from all three universities participate.
