As a Faculty of Humanities graduate you are part of a valuable network. Discover how you can remain in contact with other alumni and the University!

What we can do for you

We would love to stay in touch. If you supply us with up-to-date contact details, we will make sure that you receive our newsletter every two months. We will also inform you of alumni activities organised by the University and your department.

Did you know:

… you can make use of our career service for six months after you graduate? You can also make use of the LU Career Zone.
… as an alumnus, you may continue to use the facilities offered by the Leiden University Library (UBL) free of charge?
… the Faculty of Humanities and Leiden University offer lots of knowledge for a broader audience? Think of A la carte studying, the Studium Generale lecture series, or Higher Education for Mature Students (HOVO). Not to mention the growing number of free MOOCs.

What you can do for us

With your work experience you know so much more about the labour market than students looking for their first job. To them you represent an important point of contact with the professional world.

If you would like to formally or informally share your experience with us and the students, we would love to contact you.

As an alumnus you can help students and prospective students in one of the following ways:

• Mentor network: Register as a student mentor
• Information events: Tell school students and/or students about the choices you made during and after your study, and how you ended up doing the work you do. For example during an Open Day or Master’s Day!
• Let a student experience what your work is like: Offer a student the opportunity to shadow you for a few hours or a day at your workplace.
