Library and LU-Card
As an alumnus of Leiden University, you can continue to use the Leiden University Libraries (UBL) throughout your life.
With a valid the LU-Card you can continue to use various services and facilities of the Leiden University Libraries (UBL) as an alumnus or after your promotion. Please note: When you graduate, your account will be converted to an alumnus account and your LU-Card will be automatically blocked. If you want to continue using the LU-Card, please contact the LU-Card helpdesk to have your LU-Card unblocked.
If you lost your LU-Card, you can get a replacement card by contacting one of the LU-Card helpdesks or the central helpdesk via 071 527 2727 or lu-card@leidenuniv.nl (please state your account name).
Alumni who graduated before September 2006 can obtain a free pass at the library desks on presentation of a identity card and proof of graduation.
Access to databases
Within the university network, your alumnus account gives you access to all databases in the UBL collection, with the exception of the 'Legal Intelligence' database, which is only accessible to staff and students.
Home access via Leiden Alumni Databases is currently possible for:
- Academic Search Alumni Edition
- Art Index (H.W. Wilson)
- Criminal Justice Abstracts
- Library Literature & Information Science Index (H.W. Wilson)
- JSTOR collections: Arts & Sciences 1, 2, 3, 4, 7 en Early Journal Content
