Josine Meijerhof joined the Hazelhoff Centre for Financial Law (part of the Institute of Private Law) as a PhD candidate in April 2023. Her PhD research is partially funded by the Hazelhoff Van Huet Foundation.

Josine Meijerhof graduated from Leiden University cum laude with a master's degree in financial law. Prior to that, Josine obtained both a bachelor's degree in law from Leiden Law School and a bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts & Sciences (cum laude) from Leiden University College. Josine combined her studies with various extracurricular activities including modules at the London School of Economics and internships within government institutions and the legal profession.
Josine joined the Financial Law department at the Institute of Private Law as a PhD candidate back in April 2023. She is conducting her research under supervision from Professor Rank and Professor Raas. Her research concerns the relationship between a bank's duty of care and freedom of contract, with a particular focus on current accounts. Alongside her research, Josine is the Programme Coordinator for the Financial Law master's programme and is involved in several modules within this master's programme.
