SPOC Dutch & More for Staff
The Academic Language Centre invites international staff members who are about to start working or are working at Leiden University to participate in the free online course ‘Dutch & More for Staff’. The course is meant as a warm welcome. It teaches you the very basics of the Dutch language and gives you a glimpse of Dutch Culture. The online course is available for staff and starts twice a year in June and December.

Course information
The course was originally designed for new international students arriving at our university. We have now added additional material in the form of videos that offer advice and help that might be of interest for staff. The course uses standard language learning elements such as vocabulary, grammar and sentence formation, and gives you the opportunity to get to know the Dutch language in an accessible and fun way. The lessons are based on realistic scenarios from the life of an international student at Leiden University. The market in Leiden, a student house and the beach at Scheveningen all feature in the film.
