Course description
A good command of Dutch is essential for writing essays, memos, reports and papers. This writing course focusses on spelling, grammar, sentence and text structure. Students are required to do writing assignments at home. Common mistakes and pitfalls are dealt with.
DutchPlus Writing is held in both the 1st and second semester. Upon sufficient attendance and participation students will receive a certificate at the end of the course.
Course material
Students receive a course pack with various writing and grammar assignments. The choice of topics depends largely on the demands of the students. The materials are included in the price. A digital learning environment will be used for posting additional information and course material.
Target group and admission requirements
The course is designed for people with Dutch as a second language.
This course is open to anyone who has passed the 'State Examination, Dutch as a second language, Programme II' or who has succesfully completed level 6 at the Language Centre. In some cases one is admitted after having completed level 5, but only after an intake with our teacher. Those interested in participating who do not have this level are required to come for an entrance test before enrolling. The applicant will only be admitted to this course if a satisfactory result is achieved. This is to ensure that students with similar educational needs will be placed in the same group.
