Malin Schibler
Student assistant
Prior to joining CompaRe and pursuing a Masters of European Law (LLM) at Leiden University, Malin Schibler majored in Law in the multidisciplinary Bachelor of Science in Politics, Psychology, Law, and Economics (Bsc. PPLE) at the University of Amsterdam. Malin’s bachelor’s thesis was awarded second place for the Edgar Du Perron Prize for her legal-economic analysis of South Africa's competition regime under a gender-sensitive lens. This topic is also closely connected to her prior experience of working in management for international software companies for the past eight years and has created a strong basis for her current research interests. Namely, the intersection between data regulation, privacy and exploitation, under the auspices of digital governance and data sovereignty. Overall, Malin seeks to comparatively evaluate the legal-norm setting that underpins data governance in regional organisations, coupled with the effects of ROs prioritising privacy and data regulation frameworks to incite greater digital and economic integration.
