Speech Prosody 2024 will hold an industry panel on Prosody in Tech.

Description

Speech prosody is central in speech synthesis, language skill assessment, interactive systems, and other applications, and recent technical advances have enabled the creation of systems with amazing prosody-related abilities. This panel will give the Speech Prosody research community a broad sense of the state of the art and current concerns in prosody in the speech technology community. 

Topics: Different perceptions of the scope of “prosody” and the associated value propositions; methods and models found most useful in practice; changes in the prosody landscape over the past five years; priority wishlists for new knowledge, methods, and tools; reflections on career paths and strategies; trends and future projections; audience-suggested topics. 

Format: Introductions, position statements, discussions of suggested topics, audience questions, small-group break-out discussions, further plenary discussion, and closing thoughts.
