On Tuesday 25 October, the sun will be partially eclipsed by the moon. Although the sun will still be largely uncovered, it is a special opportunity to take a closer look at the sun, safely. Come to the Old Observatory, where volunteers the Werkgroep Leidse Sterrewacht will help you look at the sun safely in a number of ways.
- We provide some eclipse glasses.
- With a 8-inch telescope, you can see the solar eclipse and sunspots.
- With the Lunt-viewer, in addition to the solar eclipse itself, you can observe sunspots and even solar flares.
Admission to the event is completely free and you can reach us via the Sterrenwachtlaan.
