Night of Discoveries

Date
Saturday 21 September 2019 - Sunday 22 September 2019
Address
Oude Sterrewacht
Sterrenwachtlaan 11
2311 GW Leiden

This year the Night of Discovery plays with light and darkness. Many scientists from all faculties, theater makers, artists and musicians will contribute to this theme. They will share surprising discoveries and their wonder for light and darkness. For example, how did astronomers from Leiden discover three hundred thousand new galaxies? Why is it important for the development of children to play outside in the sunlight? What is the dark web? And why is a dark bedroom better if you want to loose weight?

Go on an excursion through the centre of leiden, follow a debate at the old University Library, follow a public lecture at the Academy Building and enjoy the music and acts at the Hortus. In short, be enlightened...

The Old Observatory also participates in the Night of Discoveries with many fun activities. For more information about this city-wide event click here.
