Party on the Longest Day of the Year
The Midsummer night takes place on June 21, the longest day of the year. To celebrate this, the Hortus Botanicus Leiden organises a big party! During this party you can enjoy all kinds of interesting foods, drinks, music performances, workshops and much more! Regular Hortus Botanicus entrance fee.
At the Old Observatory there is also something to do during the midsummer night. Between 19:30 and 00:00 there will be guided tours to the telescopes which start every 30 minutes (last tour starts at 23:30). You can also visit our exhibition 'Above and Beyond: Making Sense of the Universe for 100 Years' that celebrates Astronomical milestones of the last century.
Also, Midsummer Night will be the kick-off of our show about "the internet of 100 years ago".
