Congratulations Mereke van Garderen and Jan Christoph Athenstädt!
On May 25th, Jan Christoph Athenstädt and Mereke van Garderen defended their PhD dissertations at the University of Konstanz.
Jan’s dissertation, entitled "Reconstruction and Visualization of Archaological Networks", discusses the use computer science methods to reconstruct potential travel routes and trade networks based on archaeological evidence.
Mereke’s dissertation, entitled "Pictures of the Past – Visualization and visual analysis in archaeological context", presents new visualization methods specifically designed for various kinds of archaeological data.
