Ilse Ras is als Universitair Docent Criminologie verbonden aan het Instituut voor Strafrecht & Criminologie.
Ilse Ras is als Universitair Docent Criminologie verbonden aan het Instituut voor Strafrecht & Criminologie. Haar onderzoek richt zich op de beeldvorming van mensenhandel en uitbuiting in de media, bedrijfscommunicatie en politiek debat.
Na haar masterstudie Criminology aan de University of Leicester heeft zij aan de University of Leeds haar promotieonderzoek uitgevoerd naar de krantenberichtgeving over bedrijfsfraude. Daarna heeft zij aan verschillende Britse universiteiten gedoceerd in zowel Criminologie als (kritische) Stilistiek en aan de University of Leeds onderzoek gedaan naar de krantenberichtgeving en bedrijfscommunicatie over mensenhandel.
Ilse coördineert en doceert het vak Veiligheidsbeleid (Master) en doceert de vakken Evaluatie van Criminaliteitsbeleid (Master), en Onderzoeksvaardigheden – Kwalitatief (Derde jaar Bachelor).
