In de media
Frank Pieke's onderzoek draait om twee langetermijnthema's. Het eerste is de antropologie van de staat en het socialisme in het moderne Azië. Het onderzoekt de heerschappij en de organisatie van de Chinese Communistische Partij in de context van China's globalisering en markthervorming. Het tweede thema draait om internationale migratie, transnationalisme en culturele diversiteit, waaronder een langetermijnbelang in Chinese migratie en etniciteit in Europa en, meer recentelijk, de opkomst van internationale immigrantengroepen in China.
