Results

External users tested meanwhile 960 cleaned extracts of the library. The screenings were based on various assays of anti-inflammatory, fungicidal and anti-microbial activity of the extracts in the areas of pharmacy and crop protection. The results of these initial screenings indicated 174 unique hits, 18% of the extracts screened.

External users tested meanwhile 970 crude extracts of the library. The screenings were based on various assays of fungicidal, anti-microbial, and insecticidal activity of the extracts in the areas of food conservation and crop protection. The results of these initial screenings indicated 72 unique hits, 7% of the extracts screened.

The hits require a confirmation. The evidence of some is strong enough to start follow-up testing at a larger scale. It, however, is up to the users to confirm, whether, or not, using additional material of the extract library.
