Short CV
Judith Tommel obtained her Master's degree in Clinical and Health Psychology at Utrecht University in 2016. Afterwards, she worked at the Center of Excellence in Rehabilitation Medicine in Utrecht where she studied the psychosocial rehabilitation of people with spinal cord injury. In april 2017 she started her PhD at the Health, Medical, and Neuropsychology unit at Leiden University.
Research
Judith's research focuses on quality of life in patients with end-stage renal disease who are treated with dialysis. The aim of her project 'E-health treatment in dialysis' is to assess the effectiveness of guided E-health self-management treatment that is tailored to the individual patient with end-stage renal disease. It is expected that this E-health treatment will result in a decreased impact of the disease and its treatment on patients' daily life. The effectiveness of the treatment will be evaluated in a multicenter randomized controlled trial in several Dutch hospitals and dialysis centers.
