Organisation

The programme group Educational Sciences is one of the six programme groups within the Institute of Child and Education Studies at Leiden University.

At Educational Sciences we study the development of complex cognitive processes involved in skills such as learning, reading and math. We use a Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience approach to explore the mechanisms that underlie change in these areas of cognitive development and we try to relate these to brain development on the one hand, and to the development of interventions and other educational applications, on the other hand.
