Child Law
Leiden Children's Rights Clinic
The Leiden Children’s Rights Clinic is a pilot initiative that advances the implementation of children's rights and offers research-based, legal and practical solutions to address the gap in knowledge and shortage of resources in the field of children’s rights.
The Leiden Children’s Rights Clinic seeks to bridge the knowledge gap in the children’s rights field through comprehensive research services, contributing to a more informed understanding of children's rights and access to justice. It seeks to advance children’s rights in a tangible manner, by providing indirect legal support and research based advice with national and international stakeholders to create a more just, protective and inclusive environment for children. The Clinic builds on Leiden University’s leading role in international children’s rights research and education and is closely connected to the work of the Leiden Children’s Rights Observatory
Law students of the Master of Laws: Advanced Studies in International Children’s Rights and of the LL.M. programme on Dutch Child Law have the opportunity to join the clinic and gain valuable practical experience in the field of international children’s rights. Students have the chance to work alongside faculty members and experienced practitioners on live projects, offering them real-world insights into this area of law.
Would you like to get involved? We welcome national and international civil society organizations, governmental bodies, and non-governmental organizations to join this initiative. There are opportunities for collaboration in conducting research and analysis, developing policy and amicus briefs, and providing strategic guidance to national and international stakeholders.
