Who we are
The Risk and Regulation Lab is co-directed by:
Caelesta Braun
Caelesta Braun is associate professor at the Institute of Public Administration at Leiden University.
She is the principal investigator of a 5-year research project on regulatory capture funded by The Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO Talent Scheme - Vidi).
Her expertise is in the area of responsive regulation, political advocacy & lobbying, and public decision making.
Madalina Busioc
Madalina Busuioc is associate professor at the Institute of Public Administration at Leiden University.
She is the principal investigator of a prestigieus 5-year European Research Council Grant ("Reputation Matters"), generously funded by the ERC with 1.5 million euro.
Her expertise is in the area of public accountability, regulatory reputation and cooperation.
Sanneke Kuipers
Sanneke Kuipers is associate professor at the Institute of Security and Global Affairs at Leiden University.
She leads the research group 'Governance of Crises' and is the chief editor of the Journal of Risk, Hazards, and Crisis in Public Policy.
Her expertise is in the area of risk governance, and crisis management.
