Cultural Anthropology and Development Sociology
Are you interested in the people and the world around you? Do you often wonder why people behave the way they do? Then the minor in Cultural Anthropology and Development Sociology is something for you! This minor explores how people create meaning in their lives and how they make sense of the world around them.
Anthropologists look, for example, at issues of diversity, gender, religion, economic and political behaviour, and use of (social) media. Students get acquainted with anthropological approaches to studying society by learning about (and practicing with) its research methods (e.g. participant observation, fieldwork) and its modes of representation (e.g. ethnographic writing, multimodal approaches).
