Literature of the Dutch colonists in the Dutch East Indies has often been topic of academic research, but rarely has the literature of the colonised been studied. In Voicing the Colony, Honings, together with linguistists, looks at Dutch, Malay and Javanese sources to try to paint a more honest picture of colonial times.
