Individuals, teams and faculty leaders can all help to set Academia in Motion.
As a leader of a faculty, you can:
- Stimulate institutes and departments to formulate strategic goals
- Invest in leadership, and develop transparent processes for hiring and promotion
As a team, you can:
- Identify shared strategic goals and recognise and reward team members in accordance with these goals
- Make societal engagement and relevance an integral part of research evaluations
As an individual, you can:
- Adopt open science practices and put quality over quantity
- Share your insights and experiences, and become a change ambassador

You can also reach out to various groups for insights and support on topics related to Academia in Motion. For example:
- Centre for Digital Scholarship. Part of Leiden University Libraries, the CDS offers open publication advice, data management training and more.
- Centre for Science and Technology Studies. Expertise on research assessment and strategic decision making and for developing science policy.
- Citizen Science Lab. Expertise on the connections between research and society, and help for when you want to involve the public in your research.
- Young Academy Leiden. A way to connect with early-career academics at Leiden University on topics including interdisciplinarity, science and education policy.
