Archaeozoology

Archaeozoology is the study of faunal remains that are recovered at archaeological sites.

At Leiden University research on Archaeozoology includes the remains of small and large mammals, fishes and birds. All of these remains come from archaeological excavations dating to the Holocene or Pleistocene age and are processed in the Laboratory for Archaeozoological studies.
