Scoping Review by Loran Kostense (VU) and Lisa van Roermund (RU)
In this session, Loran and Lisa will share their expertise on and experience in conducting a scoping review, which is a method to conduct systematic literature review that allows you to identify gaps in research and gain insight into the literature of your interest. Scoping reviews can be used to conduct exploratory research to systematically map the available literature on a subject to identify key theories, concepts and sources of evidence. This method can therefore be very useful for empirical legal scholars who aim to explore a(n) (empirical) field they are not yet familiar with or would like to research systematically.
In this interactive ELS lab meeting, Lisa and Loran will familiarize you with this method by using examples from their own research and by giving small assignments to enable participants to actively engage with this method.
