In Dispute concerning Climate Change Obligations and Maritime Boundaries, the Republic of Sinq, a small island developing State, brings a complex claim against its industrialised neighbour, the Kingdom of Oyelle, in the wake of a catastrophic natural disaster. The case concerns highly relevant issues of substantive international law in the fields of international human rights law, territory, and the law of the sea set in the context of climate change, one of the defining problems of modern international relations. Additionally, the case engages questions of procedural law before the International Court of Justice which are of critical importance in a world where more and more cases involving more and more States are coming to The Hague.
