OSCoffee: A gentle introduction to Git and GitHub

Git is a version control system that lets you manage and keep track of your files or code history using so-called Git repositories. GitHub is a free web-based service that can host Git repositories. Code from your research lab can easily be shared with everyone using these tools. During this OSCoffee a very basic primer to Git and GitHub is given by Jeffrey Durieux. Participants will get an overview of the possibilities of Git and GitHub and get a feeling of how to start using Git and GitHub for their own research projects.
