Green roofs and Buildings

Details

This work package investigates the strategies to create multi-functional urban green spaces from buildings. First, green roof design and spatial optimization is investigated. The resource efficiency of green roofs is assessed by material flow analysis (MFA) and life cycle assessment (LCA). Then, ecological benefits of urban green roofs including cooling effect, ecological network connectivity, and urban resilience to water logging are evaluated based on satellite remote sensing, field survey, and Internet of things (IoTs). Finally, building stock model is connected to agent based model to evaluate the realization potential of the green roofs and suggests neighbourhood specific policy interventions.
