Xiamen (CN)

Xiamen is a a city in the Chinese province Fujian. It currently has about 4.3 million citizens in the city. It is therefore the largest city of the province.

About the city

Located in the subtropical zone, Xiamen enjoys a pleasant climate and a beautiful natural environment with flowers blooming all year. It is nicknamed "the Egret Island" because it has been a habitat of white egrets since ancient times. Xiamen also has long enjoyed the reputation as a charming "Garden on the Sea". Xiamen is an international coastal city with its own characteristics, standing out with a uniquely shaped bay, and is rich in spectacular subtropical scenery featuring mountains and rivers.

Moreover, Xiamen has won a string of honors, including the UN Habitat Scroll of Honor Award, International Garden City, National Garden City, National Model City for Environmental Protection, National Ecological City, National Green Transport City, and China's Top 10 Low Carbon City;
