Wetenschappelijke carrière
Manfred Wuhrer heeft biochemie gestudeerd aan de Universiteit van Regensburg, Duitsland. Hij promoveerde aan de Universiteit van Giessen in 1999 over de characterisatie van stadium-specifiek geexprimeerde glycolipiden van de humane parasiet Schistosoma mansoni. In 2003 kwam hij naar het LUMC en begon met het opzetten van een onderzoekslijn over de massa spectrometrische analyse van glycosylering.
Hij werd in 2013 benoemd als hoogleraar Analytics of Biomolecular Interactions aan de Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Sinds 2015 is hij hoogleraar Proteomics and Glycomics en hoofd van het Center for Proteomics en Metabolomics van het LUMC. De titel van zijn oratie is 'Ziekten op de weegschaal'.
