Maartje Schoorl is klinisch psycholoog en is in 2013 gepromoveerd aan de Universiteit Leiden, ondersteund met een Opleiding Onderzoeker GGZ (OOG) beurs. Sindsdien combineerde zij een klinische functie met onderzoek en onderwijs aan de Universiteit Leiden en in de post-master opleiding. Sinds 2016 is zij als hoofd onderwijs betrokken bij de post-mastertrajecten voor psychologen, verantwoordelijk voor het onderwijs aan jaarlijks ongeveer 260 aankomend Gezondheidszorgpsycholoog en Klinisch Psycholoog. Zij investeert in langere leertrajecten, startend vanaf de bachelor of master, en doorlopend in de gehele opleiding tot klinisch psycholoog. Maartje ontwierp samen met haar collega's een onderwijsprogramma gericht op kennis en vaardigheden bij de behandeling van PTSS en een ander e-learning programma voor suïcidepreventie, dit laatste ondersteund door een subsidie van 113 Suïcidepreventie.
