Dr. Linde Desmaele is Assistant Professor of Intelligence and Security bij het Institute of Security and Global Affairs (ISGA). Haar werk bevindt zich op het snijvlak van internationale betrekkingen en veiligheidsstudies, met een focus op nucleaire politiek, Amerikaanse allianties en Europese veiligheid. Voordat ze bij Leiden kwam, had Linde fellowships aan MIT en Columbia University. Ze heeft een PhD van de Vrije Universiteit Brussel, waar haar proefschrift in 2022 de Global Strategy PhD Prize won. Ze zet zich in om academisch onderzoek en beleidsvorming te overbruggen door actieve deelname aan discussies tussen academici en praktijkmensen. Aan de Universiteit Leiden draagt Linde ook bij aan de MSc in Crisis and Security Management.
