Jenneke van der Wal is onderzoeker en docent met een passie voor Afrikaanse talen en taalkunde. Haar doel is om te begrijpen wat ons menselijk taalvermogen is, daarbij concentrerend op morfosyntaxis en informatiestructuur. Ze gelooft dat dit het best onderzocht kan worden door ook naar Afrikaanse talen te kijken en samenwerking te zoeken met taalkundigen daar. In haar onderwijs en outreach wil ze haar enthousiasme voor (Afrikaanse) talen overbrengen door studenten interactief uit te dagen tot kritisch nadenken en puzzelen.
